Double Cluster

I took the opportunity yesterday evening to do a bit of imaging, after much thought and being a week night I decided to image something that would not take hours of data gathering. I actually spent more time finding out why my guide camera was constantly being dropped by the PC, it turned out to be the 5 metre USB extender cable connection was loose. Once that was fixed I imaged the Double Cluster in Perseus, as the name implies it consists of two clusters close together at a distance of 7500 light years ( a light year is the distance light travels in a year or 5.9 trillion miles ) and both are moving towards us at 24 miles per second.

They make a very nice pair in binoculars or small telescope, I was certainly glad I was in the warm room with the heater on not peering through either of those.
