Seeing as I use different scopes for different purposes, it can at times mean juggling them around on the mount to get the best balance. To make this easier I needed a 7 inch male to male losmandy type adapter plate, this simple thing is hard to find in the UK, so instead of importing one from Europe or the US and costing over £100 I made one from an old un-used 14 inch Altair Astro losmandy plate. Simply cut the aluminium plate in half and bolt the two halves together using the threaded holes already in the plate, giving a new lease of life to a dissused plate.
Now I can swap scopes as needed without much effort. Well what else can you do on a rainy day.
Oh no! He’s at that ^*%$! hacksaw again!! :-):-)

Every astronomer should have a hacksaw, right next to the eyepieces.
